18-Month-Old Girl Critical After 3-Story Fall
An 18-month-old girl was critically injured Friday when she fell from a third-floor apartment, a Los Angeles Fire Department spokesman said.
The child was in critical condition Friday night at Childrens Hospital of Los Angeles, said hospital spokesman Steve Rutledge. The girl, whose name was withheld, was breathing with the help of a respirator and undergoing tests for a possible skull fracture, he said.
The toddler tumbled from the apartment balcony on Lankershim Boulevard about 5:30 p.m., said Bob Collis of the Fire Department. A neighbor called for help, he said.
Collis said he had no other details on the circumstances of the fall.
