Four Oxnard men were arrested after an early morning crime spree escalated from automobile theft to robbery and multiple stabbings, authorities said.

Oxnard police said Juan Lopez, 18; Jose Romero, 19; Jesus Duarte, 19; and Enrique Flores, 18, stole a Port Hueneme man’s vehicle about 1:30 a.m. Saturday and drove to the Taco de Mexico restaurant in Oxnard. There, one of the suspects allegedly pulled a knife and demanded a customer’s jewelry, police said.

The four then drove to Wooley Road and C Street, where they allegedly cut and tried to rob another man, police said. In the 300 block of East Iris Street, another victim was stabbed, police said. The four men then allegedly threw rocks and bottles at a car.

Officers responding to a call on Iris Street said they saw the men leave the scene in the stolen vehicle with its lights off. When the men saw the police car, they attempted to flee but were apprehended, police said.

The victim from the restaurant and the one robbed at Wooley and C identified the four men, police said. The names of the victims are being withheld by police.

All four men were booked into Ventura County Jail on suspicion of offenses including robbery, assault with a deadly weapon, possession of stolen property and auto theft.
