Council Names 3 to Panels, Seeks More

After reappointing three members to city commissions, the City Council is still looking for a few good folks.

Council members reappointed Scott Boydstun and Joy Berger to the Public Art Commission, which advises the council on the quality and quantity of art in public places. Jean McPherson was again appointed to the Library Advisory Commission, which provides advice on library service in the city.

Terms for Boydstun and Berger will end June 24, 2003, while McPherson’s term expires July 1, 2003.

The city’s Appointments Recommendation Committee interviewed candidates June 28 and July 26.

The appointments committee, which is chaired by Councilman Jim Monahan, is currently requesting applications for one member and an alternate for the Ventura County Transportation Commission Advisory Committee. That committee gives input to the county transportation commission.

A position is also available on the Mobile Home Rent Review Board, which receives, investigates and holds hearings on issues relating to mobile home park rent stabilization.
