Chuck Negron, former lead singer of 1960s supergroup Three Dog Night, will sign and discuss his autobiography, “Three Dog Nightmare,” and perform a mini-concert with his current band, starting at 7:30 tonight at Borders Books & Music, 9301 Tampa Ave., Northridge.

Three Dog Night scored 18 consecutive Top 20 hits and 12 gold albums between 1969 and 1973, making it one of the most successful rock acts of all time. Negron’s book chronicles his successes and his subsequent problems related to drug abuse. Violinist Eddie Fields and his jazz band will perform at 8 p.m. Saturday. (818) 886-5443.

Author Tom Nolan will discuss and sign his book, “Ross MacDonald: A Biography,” at 7 p.m. Wednesday at the Burbank Central Library, 110 N. Glenoaks Blvd. Nolan’s book is the first biography of MacDonald, the creator of the Lew Archer detective novel series.
