Motorcyclist Dies in High-Speed Crash
A Thousand Oaks man has died after losing control of his motorcycle and colliding with the railing alongside a road in Agoura Hills.
Stephen Edward Mikol, a chiropractor, died Sunday morning at Los Robles Medical Center in Thousand Oaks, 40 minutes after crashing into a metal guardrail on Cornell Road, California Highway Patrol Officer Ron Cohan said.
Mikol was riding south on Cornell Road at more than 65 mph when he went around a bend, hit the rail and was thrown from his motorcycle, Cohan said.
Mikol’s speed was unsafe for roadway conditions, according to John Root, the investigating officer. The speed limit along that section of road is 45 mph.
