MISSION VIEJO
An 80-year-old motorist apparently suffered a heart attack and drove off two embankments Wednesday, authorities said. The unidentified man was taken to Mission Hospital Regional Medical Center and listed in critical condition.
According to the Sheriff’s Department, the man was leaving Mission Hospital or its neighboring medical offices when the accident occurred. Instead of getting on the driveway leading to Medical Center Road, the man drove off an embankment, then clipped another car and sped down a second embankment, where his car stopped, Sgt. Randy Benicky said.
