Residents who live near El Dorado High School will no longer have to tolerate students’ cars lining their streets when school starts in September.
The City Council on Tuesday unanimously approved a proposal to restrict weekday street parking in neighborhoods near the school from 8 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.
Only residents with permits will be allowed to park on Lawn Avenue, Seville Street, Peg Place, Moss Circle, Sinclair Circle, Holmes Avenue and parts of Anderson Street during those hours.
Neighbors have complained that students park their cars in front of driveways and throw trash into yards and on sidewalks.
The school has enough parking spaces to accommodate the students who drive, said Christopher Becker, the city’s public works director.
