It didn’t take Jeff Kent long to fit back into the San Francisco lineup.

Kent homered in his first at-bat off the disabled list for the second of three consecutive homers as the Giants completed a three-game sweep of the Brewers on Sunday, 7-3.

“I don’t want to over-analyze anything,” Kent said.

After Bill Mueller singled, Barry Bonds began the barrage with his 22nd home run. Kent followed with his 14th and Ellis Burks hit his 24th.

“They were right down the middle and usually you get hurt when you do that,” Milwaukee pitcher Cal Eldred (1-7) said.

The three shots off Eldred traveled an estimated 1,250 feet--444 for Bonds, 402 for Kent and 404 for Burks.

“He was throwing hard, but he was trying to throw the ball by them,” Milwaukee Manager Jim Lefebvre said. “You can’t do that with guys like Burks and Bonds and Kent.”

Bonds downplayed the power surge and was anxious to depart Milwaukee for the next series in Chicago.

“I’m just excited to win,” Bonds said. “I don’t care how you do it.”

It was Kent’s first game in nearly three weeks. He had been out since Aug. 4 because of an inflamed toe on his left foot.

“That was great for us,” Giant Manager Dusty Baker said. “It means our power stroke is back. It was awesome. . . big for us.”

Kent added a run-scoring single in the seventh.
