Leisure World’s Aquadettes--a troupe of synchronized swimmers ranging from 55 to 84 years old--are holding a performance to raise money to fight the proposed El Toro airport. The program, called “Aqua Follies,” is scheduled for Monday following four nights of sold-out shows. Tickets for the benefit are $20, compared with the $4 cost for the other shows. The result is that only 70 of the 350 tickets for the 90-minute show have been sold, said Katie Licking, an Aquadette. The Aquadettes are worried about the impact of the airport, which could be built on the former El Toro Marine base. “If an airport is built, we will be in the flight path and it will ruin our nice retirement community,” said Licking. The benefit performance is at 8 p.m. Monday at Leisure World’s Swim Center at Clubhouse 1. Tickets: (949) 461-0322.
