In the NCAA West Regional final at the Sports Arena last March, Louisiana Tech defeated UCLA, 99-75. This season, Louisiana Tech opened its season with a 69-54 win over Tennessee, which last week upended UCLA, 88-77. UCLA is led by 6-foot-3 Maylana Martin, who is averaging 16.7 points and 8.7 rebounds. Louisiana Tech’s loss was 74-72 to Mississippi State. Before the Louisiana Tech-UCLA game, No. 1 Connecticut (5-0) plays No. 11 Penn State ((4-1).
