The Orange Coast College dance department is one of only two community college dance programs cited among the nation’s 150 top schools in “The Joffrey Ballet School’s Ballet-Fit” by Dena Simone Moss and Allison Kyle Leopold (St. Martin’s Griffin in New York).
The book, written for adult beginning ballet students, offers suggestions for where they may pursue study. Other institutions recommended include Arizona State University, San Francisco Dance Center, Washington School of Ballet, New York University and Houston Ballet Academy.
The Orange Coast College dance department was founded in the 1963. It is chaired by Karen L. Shanley.
