In a Nov. 22 article about the Fresno Philharmonic’s music director controversy, you refer to the 600 residents who have season tickets. In fact, we have over 3,500 subscribers. Of these, 600 have also donated $250 or more, making them eligible to vote in the election the article discussed. You convey the opinions of some who suggest that Raymond Harvey’s nonrenewal has roots in racism or homophobia. Harvey was hired and his contract renewed twice with the board’s full knowledge of his race and sexual preference. Harvey, the leadership of his support group (Save Our Symphony) and the attorneys for SOS have not raised this as an issue. While people are entitled to their opinions, this one has absolutely no basis in reality.
