LA HABRA
The City Council this week agreed to consider a water conservation plan that could possibly save the city $250,000. The plan is one of the requirements the city must implement in order to receive funding from the Orange County Sanitation District for a sewer line rehabilitation program. The city must also adopt a grease ordinance to regulate the disposal of grease and other insoluble waste from commercial kitchens.
The sewer project is already under construction, said Martin Pastucha, the city’s director of public works. Drafting of the ordinance and details of the conservation plan will come back to the City Council at a later date.
