Saddleback Memorial Medical Center has donated its old cardiac catheterization lab, equipment used to diagnose heart diseases and defects, to the Nguyen Trai Hospital in Ho Chi Minh City, formerly known as Saigon.
Nguyen Trai serves patients who are needy, said Jennifer D’Andrea, Saddleback’s marketing and public relations manager. Saddleback’s equipment has been replaced by two new labs purchased by the hospital for $2.5 million.
The equipment will be sent to the manufacturer to be refurbished before being shipped to Vietnam next year.
