The city’s Redevelopment Agency plans to spend money in the coming years to study the North County economy and try to lure a high-tech firm to Brea--goals some City Council members say don’t quite fit with the agency’s purpose.

Councilmen Roy Moore and Steve Vargas have questioned some of the agency’s plans for the next five years, including spending $3,000 on a Cal State Fullerton study to measure the economic climate of north Orange County cities. The county and other cities would pay for the rest of the $30,000 cost of the study.
