After skating to a two-goal lead early in the game, the Ice Dogs saw it slip away Saturday as the Kansas City Blades came back to score four unanswered goals to win, 4-2, at Kansas City, Mo.
Doug Ast struck first for the Ice Dogs at 19:06 of the first period off a feed from Kaspars Astashenko to take a 1-0 lead into the first-period intermission. Dmitri Leonov also assisted on Alexei Vasilevski’s first goal as an Ice Dog 1:18 into the second period, but that would be all for Long Beach.
Jason Cirone got Kansas City on the board at 7:49 of the second period and the Blades scored two more goals in the second, including Dave Chyzowski’s game-winner at 16:15, to take a one-goal lead into the third period.
