Theoren Fleury’s confidence is back, and so is his scoring magic.

Fleury scored 45 seconds into overtime and assisted on the Rangers’ first three goals Sunday night to lead New York to a 5-4 victory over the Tampa Bay Lightning at New York.

“It’s fun to be productive, that’s for sure,” Fleury said. “I think I lost my confidence there for a while. A little extra hard work and a little confidence makes all the difference.”

Fleury knocked his own rebound past goaltender Dan Cloutier as he recorded his first four-point game of the season. The overtime goal saved the Rangers, who had blown a 4-2 lead with eight minutes left in the third period.

Phoenix 4, San Jose 3--Keith Tkachuk scored the go-ahead goal in the third period and assisted on Teppo Numminen’s eventual game-winner as the Coyotes ended a four-game losing streak with a victory over the Sharks at Phoenix.

Tkachuk broke a 2-2 tie 7:29 into the third when he pounced on a loose puck in the neutral zone, skated in and beat Shark goalie Steve Shields on the far side with a wrist shot from high in the slot.

Little more than three minutes later, Tkachuk spun and sent a pass to Dallas Drake, whose shot bounced off Shields to Numminen near the crease.

New York Islanders 5, New Jersey 3--Niklas Andersson had a goal and two assists and Roberto Luongo stopped 46 shots to lead the Islanders to their first home victory in more than six weeks.

Former King Olli Jokinen and Brad Isbister each had a goal and an assist as the Islanders had their biggest offensive outburst of the season.

Gino Odjick and Tim Connolly also scored for the Islanders.

Edmonton 3, Ottawa 3--Boyd Devereaux scored with less than seven minutes remaining in the game to give the Oilers a tie with the Senators at Edmonton, Canada.

Devereaux scored at 13:24 of the third period from just outside the crease after winning a faceoff in the Ottawa zone.

He slipped the puck back to Roman Hamrlik on the draw, and flipped in the rebound of Hamrlik’s shot.

Philadelphia 1, Nashville 1--Eric Desjardins scored a fluke goal with 53.2 seconds left in the third period to give the Flyers a tie at home with the second-year Predators.

The tie extended the Flyers’ home unbeaten streak to 12 games.

Desjardins’ slap shot from just inside the blue line bounced off the chest of Predator defenseman Karlis Skrastins, tied up with John LeClair in front of the net, and rolled between the legs of goalie Mike Dunham.
