Bus riders in Fullerton will be among the first in the country to use computerized buses, transportation officials said Tuesday.
The Orange County Transportation Authority is installing a $12-million computer system in the 490 buses serving the county, said Dave Simpson, Transportation Authority spokesman. About 200 of those buses roll through Fullerton daily. The new technology, which digitizes bus communications, will allow drivers to better track each other and synchronize their schedules, said Ed Muncy, manager of operation support.
