A Bank of America branch was robbed by an unarmed man who handed a teller a note demanding cash, police said.

The holdup occurred shortly after 3 p.m. at the branch in the 2800 block of Cochran Street, Simi Valley Police Lt. Gordon Weeks said.

There were more than a dozen employees and customers in the bank at the time, but no one was injured, authorities said.

According to Weeks, the teller handed over an undisclosed amount of cash that the robber carried out in his hand. The thief apparently left on foot, because no one in the bank saw a getaway car, he said.

The robber was described as a Latino man in his early 20s, 5 feet 8, 170 pounds, with short, straight dark brown hair. He was wearing a dark-colored baseball cap, gray sweatshirt and blue jeans.
