A 5-month-old Huntington Beach boy injured in a hit-and-run traffic accident earlier this week has died, authorities said Wednesday.

Brian Muyorido, whose mother was killed in the Monday night collision in Fountain Valley, died at 11:15 p.m. Tuesday. The infant had been thrown from a Ford Mustang that was struck by a Chevrolet pickup whose driver apparently ran a red light, then ran from the scene, police said.

The truck’s driver, Agustin Gonzalez Galindo, 42, of Costa Mesa, was arrested Monday night after police found him hiding in bushes. He was charged with vehicular manslaughter, felony drunken driving and felony hit-and-run.

Killed in the crash were the baby’s mother, Maria Reyna Cano, 28, of Huntington Beach, and the Mustang’s driver, Nestor Rameriz Suastegui, 24, also of Huntington Beach. Two other passengers in the Mustang, including the boy’s father, Cei Muyorido, 27, survived.

Police said most of those in the car were Taco Bell workers leaving a restaurant Christmas party. The driver and passengers in the Mustang were wearing seat belts; the baby was in a safety seat, police said.

Authorities said Galindo’s license had been suspended previously for driving under the influence. His bail was set at $50,000.
