Christmas will be a little brighter for three local families who have been adopted by a group of at-risk youths who hope to one day serve as police officers.
The group--the Explorer Post, which helps the La Habra Police Department conduct field interviews, direct traffic and work the radio--went shopping at Kmart this week and bought $255 worth of presents for 11 children. They distributed the gifts Thursday.
