Ocean Pacific Apparel Corp. will roll out a new collection targeting the core surf market at the Action Sports Retailers trade show in February.

Ocean Pacific, which sponsored the OP Pro surf contest in Huntington Beach until this year, has named its new line Op Pro. It will be in stores in June.

“We are in a position to distribute Op Pro to a very narrow and select number of retailers showcasing the best we have to offer,” Chief Executive Richard Baker said in a statement announcing the launch of the Irvine company’s newest line.

The new clothes will be made by Ray’s Apparel Inc., which has the master license for Ocean Pacific’s young men’s, boy’s and girl’s 4-6x lines. Ocean Pacific also has named John Vance its new vice president of sales and marketing and general manager for Op Pro. Vance has been in the industry for 25 years, most recently as vice president of sales and marketing for Quiksilver Inc. in Huntington Beach.
