Times, Garden State Acquire Ad Distributor

Share

The Los Angeles Times and Garden State Newspapers Inc. jointly acquired a distributor for advertising pre-printed inserts for an undisclosed amount, the companies said. The acquisition of California Independent Postal Service Marketing Group Inc. will enable both publishing groups to deliver stand-alone advertisements to every household in the five-county coverage area, without duplicating the deliveries to households receiving the ads inside the newspapers. Garden State publications include the Los Angeles Daily News and the Long Beach Press Telegram.

Separately, Times Mirror appointed three corporate vice presidents. John C. McKeon, who joined the Times in November after 12 years at Newsday, will serve as senior vice president of advertising; Jaynie Miller Studenmund will serve as senior vice president, chief marketing officer and general manager, sections; and Nancy C. Walker will serve as president and chief executive of StayWell Co., Times Mirror’s health-improvement unit.
