BUENA PARK
The city could follow Los Angeles’ example and require landlords to evict tenants arrested for drug- or gang-related activities if council members adopt a proposed ordinance at Tuesday’s meeting.
Critics have called the ordinance unconstitutional because it requires an arrest, rather than a conviction, to evict someone. Proponents, however, said the ordinance will give landlords and police another tool to keep neighborhoods safe. The council meets at 6 p.m. at 6650 Beach Blvd. Information: (714) 562-3500.
