Mayor Frank Fry Jr. delivered his annual State of the City address Tuesday night, reviewing a year in which the city improved its financial position but also faced some major challenges. Fry thanked city staff for the response to the rupture of a 5-million-gallon water tank in September, saying: “Everybody just did 150%. It was great. The citizens worked together. We couldn’t have had a better situation going.” Among the challenges facing the city this year are continuing to deal with the financial consequences of the rupture, obtaining more funds for street repairs and developing the city’s first skateboard park, Fry said.
