STANFORD (8-2, 12-9) at UCLA (10-1, 18-5), 7, KIEV (830)--Stanford has a four-game winning streak over UCLA at Pauley Pavilion, but a Bruin victory tonight over the once-mighty Cardinal would give UCLA a 2-0 mark over Stanford for the first time since 1988. Last month, UCLA registered a rare win at Stanford, 80-72. But Stanford hasn’t lost since, having won five in a row. Stanford is half a game behind second-place Oregon and still has a chance for a fifth consecutive Pac-10 title.

CALIFORNIA (2-8, 8-11) at USC (2-9, 6-14), 7--This is one USC needs if it’s to escape the Pac-10 cellar. But with a fifth injured starter, Adrain Williams, still day to day, it’s a tall order. USC Thursday was granted an NCAA waiver to add volleyball player Antoinette Polk to its roster because of “extraordinary personnel losses.” Before Williams injured her foot, the Trojans had lost four starters for the season to injury. The Trojans have lost seven in a row, Cal four of its last five.
