Kasich Announcing White House Bid

Rep. John R. Kasich, saying he is “a little fresher” than other politicians, is joining the list of Republicans with plans to seek the GOP presidential nomination next year. He plans to announce today in his home state of Ohio that he is filing papers to set up an exploratory committee and will then travel to New Hampshire and Iowa to begin his battle for the nomination. The 46-year-old House Budget Committee chairman joins four other Republicans who have formed exploratory committees.
