When the Los Angeles County Museum of Art screened “Decalogue”--the 10-part masterpiece of the late Polish director Krzysztof Kieslowski--in November, the public response was fervent, with sold-out crowds packing LACMA’s Bing Theater for every screening. Now the American Cinematheque will screen what is regarded as the virtuoso director’s other, and last, masterpiece, the Three Colors Trilogy--”Blue,” “White” and “Red”--as part of its “Belles du Jour: French Actresses--The New Generation” series. Actress Julie Delpy, star of “White,” will be on hand for a post-screening discussion.

Actor John de Lancie (“Star Trek: The Next Generation’s” Q) hosts “Play It Again, Miguel,” an hourlong program of music for ages 5 to 11 in a Toyota Symphonies for Youth Concert with the Los Angeles Philharmonic Orchestra, conducted by Miguel Harth-Bedoya. Making her Philharmonic debut is 11-year-old pianist Sally Kikuchi.

10am: Museums

Negative stereotypes surrounding Native American culture are dispelled in the new multimedia exhibition “Powerful Images: Portrayals of Native America,” opening Saturday at the Autry Museum of Western Heritage. The exhibition compares popular depictions of Native Americans in literature, art, film and advertising with how Native Americans represent themselves through such artistic endeavors as painting, sculpture, toy design and neon signs.

Enrico Colantoni, who plays Elliott the photographer on “Just Shoot Me,” is also an accomplished classical stage actor. He exercises his chops in Shakespeare’s tragedy “Macbeth,” playing the title role as the murderous doomed ruler opposite Anna Gunn as his ambitious queen. Suzanne Cryer directs.

Book lovers these days routinely use the Internet to buy new and used books. But for serious collectors there’s nothing quite like holding a rare book in their hands. They’ll have the chance in spades this weekend at the first Pasadena Antiquarian Book, Print and Paper Fair. More than 70 booksellers from around the world will be on hand with prints, posters, manuscripts and books of all kinds.

Praised in the Philadelphia Inquirer for “powerful movement and dazzling speed,” the Philadanco company brings modern dance with a distinct Philly accent and energy to the Southland. Of special interest in its rep program: Milton Myers’ “Echoes”--a tribute to the late Alvin Ailey set to music by John Adams--and “Dreamtime,” in which choreographer Elisa Monte uses music by David Alan Tiegham to evoke the mythology of Australian Aborigines. Also scheduled: “Bamm,” by the provocative contemporary dance-maker Donald Byrd, and “Pretty Is Skin Deep, Ugly to the Bone,” with choreography by black dance pioneer Talley Beatty.
