From Times staff and wire reports

Clint Reilly, a millionaire political consultant who has never held elective office, said Thursday that he will run for mayor against Willie Brown in November. The son of a milkman, Reilly, 52, amassed a fortune in real estate and by running political campaigns and says he wants to repay a debt to the city. “I owe everything I have become to San Francisco, so I feel a deep sense of commitment to the city,” Reilly said. Over three decades, Reilly, a Democrat, has built a reputation as one of the state’s most powerful political consultants.
