LANCASTER — A 15-year-old girl riding her bicycle was injured Saturday afternoon when she was hit by truck whose driver then fled the scene, authorities said.
The accident occurred about 2:45 p.m. on Elizabeth Lake Road just west of Ranch Club Road, when a driver in a pickup tried to illegally pass a car on the right and swerved into the girl, said Sgt. Mike Griffin of the Palmdale Sheriff’s Station.
A California Highway Patrol officer said the driver was later arrested.
The girl was airlifted to Antelope Valley Hospital. Her condition was not released by the hospital.
