Mother Backs Van Over 3-Year-Old

SUN VALLEY — A 3-year-old boy was injured Sunday afternoon when his mother backed over him with a van as he stooped to pick up a toy, authorities said.
The accident, outside the family’s home in the 8200 block of Lankershim Boulevard, happened at about 3:40 p.m., according to Los Angeles City Fire Department spokesman Bob Collis.
The youngster was airlifted by helicopter to Childrens Hospital Los Angeles, where he was in fair condition, Collis said.
