ANAHEIM
City officials are negotiating to form an alliance with a Boise, Idaho, power company to help reduce electric costs to customers. The City Council has authorized negotiations with IdaCorp Energy Solutions, a subsidiary of Idaho Power Co. Negotiations are expected to be completed in April.
The alliance, between Anaheim Public Utilities and IdaCorp, will maximize power generation and transmission assets and provide the lowest achievable energy cost for local customers, city officials said. The alliance is expected to bring annual savings of $1 million to $3 million to the city and is part of the city’s strategy to reduce overall power costs.
