Police Nab Drunk Driving Suspect in Shower

A 29-year-old man suspected of drunk driving led California Highway Patrol officers on a freeway chase that ended when the man stopped at his Winnetka home, ran inside, disrobed and tried to take a shower, authorities said.

At about 12:35 a.m. Monday CHP officers saw Michael Greer driving on the Foothill Freeway, suspected he was drunk and attempted to stop him, said Shirley Gaines, a CHP spokeswoman. Greer failed to yield, she said, and drove off, reaching speeds up to 70 to 80 mph. He went from the Foothill to the Ventura Freeway and exited at Tampa Avenue, according to Gaines.

He then drove to his home in the 19800 block of Covello Street, ran to the bathroom, undressed and tried to pretend that he was taking a shower, Gaines said. Officers followed him inside and arrested him as he was entering the shower.
