Pressure Defense Praised

The Bruins relied heavily on a pressing defense in the second half in victories over USC last Wednesday and the blowout of Syracuse on Sunday. The Orangemen, averaging 16.5 turnovers coming in, committed 21.
“We didn’t handle the pressure very well at all,” Syracuse Coach Jim Boeheim said. “JaRon Rush did a very nice job today and UCLA played very well. Their full-court press caused us a lot of problems.”
Said Rush, “It’s Syracuse. They’ve played a lot of games that have been tough. I was real surprised how much it bothered them.”
Coming up: Thursday versus Washington State, Saturday versus Washington.
