MacCulloch Can Dish It Out Too

Share

It’s bad enough that Washington center Todd MacCulloch is one of the most accurate shooters in college basketball. Now the Trojans have to worry about his passing too.

MacCulloch, who shoots 66% from the field and averages 18.8 points, had a team-high four assists in the Huskies’ 86-81 victory over California last week. The 7-footer repeatedly passed the ball to teammates as they cut into the lane.

“We’ve gotten caught up in giving the ball to Todd and watching him go to work,” Washington Coach Bob Bender said. “For the first time, we had much more efficient movement and guys were rewarded with easy baskets.”

Said USC Coach Henry Bibby: “You have a legitimate All-American in Todd MacCulloch.”

Tonight’s game at the Sports Arena is crucial to both teams, but for different reasons.

“Washington is trying to solidify [its] position in the NCAA tournament,” Bibby said. “Our whole thinking is this is a longshot for us to get to the NIT.”
