LAGUNA NIGUEL

Mayor Mark Goodman will throw out the first pitch March 6 at Niguel Hills Middle School, signifying the opening season of Laguna Niguel Girls Softball. More than 1,500 people, including city officials and residents, are expected to attend opening day ceremonies.

About 700 girls are in the league. The ballpark boasts a new snack bar, batting and pitching cages, and the installation of ball-field lighting will allow for more night games.
