Fullerton Overpowers L.A. Harbor With 3 Home Runs

Fullerton’s Eddie Romprey had two home runs and David Fischer hit one, leading Fullerton to a 7-3 victory over host Los Angeles Harbor in baseball Thursday.

Bob Cramer pitched five strong innings for Fullerton (11-5) and recorded his first victory of the season. He struck out four and gave up three hits.

Fischer hit a two-run homer in the first inning. Romprey hit his in the fourth and eighth innings.

In nonconference softball:

Moorpark 19, Orange Coast 7--Moorpark (11-2) got three home runs in its rout of Orange Coast. The Raiders had a 15-0 lead going into the third inning. Catcher Andrea Prante had two doubles and two RBIs for Orange Coast (3-5).

In Orange Empire Conference men’s tennis:

Irvine Valley 6, Cypress 3--Irvine Valley won four straight singles matches.

Orange Coast 5, Riverside 4--Don Clark and Hugo Alvarado won the deciding match in doubles, 6-0, 6-7, 6-2. Clark earned a 6-0, 6-7, 6-1 victory in singles to lead the visiting Pirates (2-5, 1-3), which led, 4-2, after the singles round.

In nonconference men’s tennis:

Golden West 8, El Camino 1--Jason Kasner defeated El Camino’s Steve Hong, 7-6, 6-1, then teamed up with Tony Pascoe for an 8-5 victory in doubles. Pascoe and Chris Tabolski each won in singles for the host Rustlers (8-1).

In Orange Empire Conference women’s tennis:

Orange Coast 6 1/2, Riverside 2 1/2--Margo Verhagen and Sharron Gibson of Orange Coast and Coral Conley and Holly Capen of Riverside played to a draw in the second doubles match. Riverside’s Rebecca Watson defeated Anita Babayani, winning the team’s only singles match.

Saddleback 8, Fullerton 1--Elke Heck won in singles, 6-3, 6-1, then teamed up with Karen Amos for an 8-2 victory in doubles for host Saddleback (3-0, 2-0).
