Share

What’s the only collection of hard-core rap to outpace DMX’s most recent hit album in Southern California? How about DMX’s previous album? The rapper’s “It’s Dark and Hell Is Hot,” which came out in early 1998, just entered the Top 10 of the regional chart. Sparked by radio and video play of the track “Ruff Ryders Anthem,” “Dark” is two positions ahead of DMX’s current “Flesh of My Flesh. . . . “ The latter is doing better nationally, however, logging in at No. 8, against “Dark’s” No. 22.
