O.C. Girl Escapes Alleged Kidnapper; Police Investigating
A man allegedly tried to kidnap a 10-year-old girl Saturday afternoon in the Eastbluff neighborhood of Newport Beach, police said.
The girl, whose name was not released because of her age, was riding her bike in the 500 block of Avenida Largo when she stopped to pick some flowers. She told police that a man pulled over in his Toyota pickup truck, opened the driver’s side door and reached for her in an attempt to pull her inside.
The girl said he did not have any actual physical contact with her as he tried to pull her inside. The girl then rode home on her bike and her mother called police.
Officers went door to door looking for witnesses. The man is described as being about 30 years old with brown hair and might have a tattoo on his left arm. His truck is green with brown doors.
