Bibby Cuts Back on Amount of Practice

With Arizona State coming into the Sports Arena on Saturday for the start of Pacific 10 Conference play, the Trojans have been cutting back on a holiday practice schedule that had them on the court for as many as five or six hours a day. They showed the effects of all that hard work earlier in the week against Arkansas State.

“We just didn’t have the bounce we normally have out on the floor,” Coach Henry Bibby said. “Maybe the two-a-days took it out of the guys.”

Though practices may be shorter, they probably won’t be any less competitive. The players know no starting position is set in stone and they must earn their minutes in workouts each day. Sophomore forward Greg Lakey was able to fight his way back into the starting lineup for Arkansas State, and tied a career high with 14 points.
