The American Red Cross seeks volunteers to help install an emergency response system for people with special needs. Installers will connect the system to clients’ telephones and teach them how to use it; training will be provided. Help is also needed to coordinate installers’ schedules. The Volunteer Center Assistance League of Southern California is seeking people who can baby-sit Tuesday evenings or help in the office during the day at the L.A. Family Housing Corp. shelter in North Hollywood. For more information, call (818) 908-5128.

Women Helping Children, a community service within the National Council of Jewish Women / Los Angeles, seeks volunteers to serve as tutors and mentors to homeless or troubled children and young mothers.
