* Gold Coast Small Business Development Center, 5700 Ralston St., Suite 310, Ventura, will offer the following workshops and support groups:

A four-part series designed for people considering self-employment will begin Wednesday. Installments will include “The Basics of Business,” “How to Write a Business Plan,” “Marketing a Small Business” and “Financing Your Business.” The workshops will be held from 1 to 4 p.m. on succeeding Wednesdays. Cost: $15.

“Consultants Group Meeting,” from 9 to 11 a.m. Friday, is for consultants who could benefit from networking with other consultants. Participants will receive suggestions on marketing and conducting engagements. Free.

The “Home Based Business Support Group,” from 9 to 11 a.m. Jan. 22, offers an opportunity to network with other home-based business owners. Free.

The two-part workshop “Getting Organized to Get Ahead” will be held from 8:30 a.m. to noon Jan. 28 and Jan. 30. Participants will discuss strategies to organize time, tasks and priorities. Cost: $49; $59 for those who register after Jan. 22.
