Capistrano Valley 58, Mission Viejo 53 (OT)--Sarah Flanagan made three of her four three-pointers in the fourth quarter and overtime to lead visiting Capistrano Valley (6-10, 1-0).

Dana Hills 60, Trabuco Hills 43--Jessica Hardy led all scorers with 18 points for visiting Dana Hills (13-3, 1-0). Erin Hutchison had 25 rebounds and 11 points for the Dolphins.

Emily Deeley led Trabuco Hills (6-11, 0-1) with 14 points.

In nonleague girls’ basketball:

No. 4 Edison 57, Long Beach Poly 39--Michelle Zylstra scored 24 points and had nine rebounds and Allison Libeu scored 14 points and had 13 rebounds for host Edison (12-4). The Chargers, which led 12-10 after the first quarter, held Poly to five second-quarter points to take a 27-15 halftime lead.

No. 8 Westminster 57, Santa Ana 24--Candice Carillo scored 11 points to lead Westminster (16-3).

Century 49, Santa Ana Valley 30--Elizabeth Mendoza had 26 points, including four three-pointers, for visiting Century (11-3).

Costa Mesa 53, Loara 44--Autumn Smith, with nine points, had 18 rebounds and six blocks for Costa Mesa (9-5). Evelyn Powers scored 15 points and Nancy Hatsushi had 14 points and eight assists for the Mustangs.

El Dorado 51, Corona 37--Courtney Smith scored 15 of her 16 points in the second half as El Dorado outscored visiting Corona, 30-19. Sydney Patten had 14 points and nine rebounds for the Golden Hawks (11-5).

Liberty Christian 35, Santa Monica Lighthouse 34--With five seconds remaining, Crissy Davis hit a jumper to lift Liberty Christian (4-7) at home. Lighthouse is 7-3.

Newport Harbor 48, Cypress 36--April Ross scored 19 points and Kalena Jackson had 12 for Newport Harbor (12-5).

In Olympic League boys’ basketball:

Whittier Christian 73, Calvary Chapel 55--Jon Stoa led all scorers with 31 points for host Whittier Christian (10-5, 1-0). Matt Martinez had 15 points, for the Heralds. Joshua Sherman led Calvary Chapel with 14 points.

In nonleague boys’ basketball:

No. 3 Santa Margarita 85, Orange 39--Spencer Gloger scored 24 points and had eight rebounds to lead host Santa Margarita (13-2).

No. 4 Brea Olinda 59, Troy 47--Kyle Dodd had 24 points and 10 assists and Jerett Skrifvars 15 rebounds for Brea Olinda (13-2).

Santa Ana Valley 50, Century 49--Century’s Chris Feretti could not sink the basket in the final seconds to give Santa Ana Valley the win. Eliu Fatu led Santa Ana Valley (6-9) with 15 points and eight rebounds.

University 70, No. 9 Irvine 60--Leading, 23-21, at the half, Andy Lawrence scored 21 of the Trojans’ 49 second-half points. University (9-5) outscored Irvine (13-3), 49-37, in the second half, despite Chris Ferguson’s 25 points.

In Olympic League boys’ soccer:

Calvary Chapel 2, Whittier Christian 0--Brian Cripe scored both goals for Calvary Chapel (4-6-1, 1-0).

Orange Lutheran 2, Cerritos Valley Christian 1--Matt Hess tied the score in the 48th minute for Cerritos Valley Christian (8-3, 0-1), but Chris Ziegler scored the game-winner in the 60th minute for Orange Lutheran (10-3-2, 1-0). Sean Silva had given the Lancers a 1-0 lead in the first half.

In nonleague boys’ soccer:

Laguna Beach 4, Mission Viejo 2--Laguna Beach’s Tommy Neptune scored the go-ahead goal midway through the second half. Fullback Tyler Wolfe took the ball the length of the field to cap scoring for the Artists.

Walnut 2, Sunny Hills 1--Senior Joe Rivera scored the game-winner for Walnut (4-4-5) in the 76th minute. The shot barely got past goaltender Ashley Hendry, who had three saves.

In nonleague girls’ water polo:

Kennedy 16, Fullerton 15--Karen Stein broke her school record, scoring nine goals for Kennedy (2-4). Stein, a senior, set the record earlier this season, scoring eight.

Santa Ana Valley 15, Westminster 7--Senior Anabel Ochoa scored eight goals for host Santa Ana Valley (3-3).
