Laker Girl’s Life Is Never Routine

The Laker Girls, who normally would be working on their halftime routines in Los Angeles, instead were banking on various public appearances during the lockout--including one fan’s bar mitzvah several weeks ago. Each Laker Girl has lost thousands of dollars, despite the $75 per hour they get for these special events.

“We’re not like the players,” said the squad’s director, Lisa Estrada. “This has always been part-time work, and most of the girls either go to school or have other jobs.”
