Angels Switch the Dial to KLAC

Share

The Angels signed up with KLAC (570) for their radio broadcasts Friday.

In 1997, Disney had signed five-year agreements with KRLA (1110) to air games of Disney’s Angels and Mighty Ducks, but the station’s signal could not be heard in all of Orange County. The Angels had to add a secondary FM outlet.

The Ducks left KRLA after one season for XTRA (690). The Angels also left KRLA after one season, enticed in part by a package that includes broadcasts of every spring training game for the first time in recent memory.

The package also includes extensive Angel programming before and after games, including a daily talk show that will not be hosted by either of the play-by-play broadcasters, Mario Impemba and Brian Barnhart.

KLAC also airs Laker broadcasts, which will take priority over Angel broadcasts. Wagner said the Angels would soon announce a secondary radio station to air games on nights when KLAC airs the Lakers.
