High School Still Assessing Damage From Vandals

Share

Officials at Sunny Hills High School in Fullerton said Wednesday they are still trying to determine the value of property damaged by vandals over the weekend.

“It was mean-spirited stuff,” Principal Loring Davies said. “Breaking old trophies and pictures, things of that nature. It’s hard to put a money value on it.”

“Some equipment was pretty obvious, like a television,” Davies said. “A trophy the school won in 1974, there’s sentimental value attached to that.”

The intruders ransacked the school’s weight room, which has some attached offices, the locker room and the cafeteria. Televisions and fax machines were among the items destroyed, along with doors and windows. File cabinets were overturned and emptied.

“We’ve been real fortunate the last few years to have so little damage from vandalism on this campus,” Davies said. “This just kind of surprised everybody.”

Police are still investigating the incident.
