Hartsburg Adjusts Secondary Lines

The Mighty Ducks will have a different look tonight against the Dallas Stars.

Coach Craig Hartsburg plans to juggle his second, third and fourth lines, hoping to send a message to forwards Travis Green and Marty McInnis in particular.

Neither Green nor McInnis has been productive enough to suit Hartsburg, so they will join tough guy Stu Grimson on the fourth line.

Matt Cullen will center the second line, joining wingers Tomas Sandstrom and Jeff Nielsen. Antti Aalto, Johan Davidsson and Ted Drury will form the third line.

The Paul Kariya-Steve Rucchin-Teemu Selanne line, which has scored 51 of the Ducks’ 101 goals, will remain intact.

“It’s not like we’re totally disappointed in those guys,” Hartsburg said of Green and McInnis.

“We’re going to give some other people a chance to contribute.”

Hartsburg said rookies Aalto and Davidsson and second-year player Cullen were among his best players in the Ducks’ 2-1 loss Wednesday against the Calgary Flames.

“They didn’t have cotton stuffed in their ears all day, so they understood what we were talking about,” Hartsburg said.

“They didn’t score, but they had some good shifts.”
