Big Religious Congress to Offer Workshops
The annual Religious Education Congress is a Catholic-sponsored event offering dozens of workshops in Anaheim next month on topics including “Morality: A Catholic Way of Living” and “The Spirituality of Young Teens.”
Clergy, professors and laypeople will teach sessions from Feb. 12 to 14. Last year, the event attracted nearly 37,000 participants, from as far as Europe and Australia.
“It’s a weekend for those involved in church ministry but also for people who want to attend the congress for their own spiritual enrichment,” said Adrian Whitaker, the conference coordinator.
The congress will sponsor a Youth Day on Feb. 11, for ninth- through 12th-grade students, featuring morning and afternoon workshops and a youth rally.
Most sessions will take place at the Anaheim Convention Center; others will be in nearby hotels. The cost for Youth Day is $25, and the cost for a three-day pass to all workshops is $50. Information: (213) 637-7332.
