Discount Van Goghs

I am amazed at the prices you state others have paid for Van Gogh paintings (“Beyond the Broad Brush Strokes,” by Suzanne Muchnic, Jan. 10).

I am the owner of six Van Goghs: “Self-Portrait as an Artist,” “The Bedroom,” “The Yellow House,” “A Pair of Leather Clogs,” “The Wheatfield With Crows” and “Sprig of Flowering Almond Blossom in a Glass.” The colors are wonderful and inspiring.

I didn’t pay anywhere near the prices mentioned in the article. Instead, I paid $1.50 for all six of them and now have them above my desk. But because The Times printed “The Yellow House” on the back of “Sprig of Flowering Almond Blossom in a Glass” last Sunday, I can only look at either one or the other of those two.
