School Collecting Shoes, Clothing for Homeless
As part of an annual community service project, students at Marth Baldwin School in Alhambra will collect shoes and clothing for the homeless until Feb. 3.
“We’ll take whatever,” said Angel Ceniseroz, a teacher and the student activities director at the school. About two years ago, a shoe store owner donated 50 pairs of new shoes. Another year, “someone brought in about 36 boxes of cereal, and we took it too,” Ceniseroz said. Last year, students collected more than 300 garbage bags full of clothing and shoes.
Donations should be taken to the office of the school at 900 S. Almansor St.
